Luckily my girlfriend and I got a private tour with Sonja and she did an amazing job! We covered all the sites, where GOT was filmed in Dubrovnik and a lot of extra Info. There was enough time for pause and taking photos and we could ask her all questions, also regarding other topics - like history of Dubrovnik and cultural topics. So don't hesitate to book this tour, it is amazing and we were very satisfied :-)
Andrea, our guide, was very knowledgeable and she showed us where a lot of scenes were shot around the city. We visited the fort, walked around the city and took the ferry to Lokrum Island. Here you could sit on the Iron Throne and had free time to wander around and have lunch. We took a mini bus out of Dubrovnik to the Arboretum and drove up the mountain to get a good view of the city. A good full day tour with an amazing guide.

Year 2011 was important in Dubrovnik because that was when HBO decided Dubrovnik will get another alter ego – King’s Landing, the capital city of Seven Kingdoms. Just before the filming started in Dubrovnik, Game of Thrones was already well known and popular and the entire show definitely contributed to the overall destination reputation. It was only a matter of time when other big filming companies were to film in Dubrovnik – Star Wars came along, Robin Hood, Knightfall, Bollywood, and probably many more in the future.
The tour starts with a visit to one of the oldest arboretums in this part of Europe, located just 15 km from Dubrovnik which was used as one of the filming locations. Afterwards, we cover the sites at Srdj mountain where you have the best view of King’s Landing, the highest point above Dubrovnik, then we go to Dubrovnik old town, St. Lawrence Fort and finally to Lokrum island by boat. Lokrum is where we finish the tour, it’s also has the Iron Throne. Take your photo on the Iron throne and show to the world who the true ruler of King’s Landing is!

Game of Thrones Tour – King’s Landing and the Iron Throne
Our tour includes locations of Old Town, Lovrijenac (Red Keep) and Lokrum (Qarth). Island of Lokrum was turned into Game of Thrones visitor center where every true fan wants to be at because there is the Iron Throne, a gift given to Dubrovnik by HBO. The island is Dubrovnik’s green jewel where many locals seek relaxation after long working hours in the summertime. Peacocks and bunnies are the only island’s residents and they are very friendly.
